Pumpkin - A Flowering fruit among certain varieties of Cucurbita Pepo and Curcubita maxiama in the gourd family Cucurbitaceae, among them, are cucumber, melon, chayote, zucchini, loofa.. and many more varieties. Pumpkin is characterized by a hard orange rind with distinctive grooves.

These plants are native to Central America and Mexico and have been grown in North America for 5000 years.

Pumpkin Seeds have numerous health benefits. They are naturally rich in phytosterols and carotenoids that have been shown in studies to help reduce LDL “bad” cholesterol. They’re a good source of tryptophan, an amino acid that’s important in producing serotonin. Eating a handful of pumpkin seeds in the afternoon may uplift your mood.
